We’ll provide an estimate based on the layout we’ve researched and built; once the project is awarded you will have access to the site plans and recommendations.
How do I get USPS approval for installation?
You will need to reach out to the local post office that services your community. Once a deposit is placed, Midatlantic Mailbox can take over communications regarding scheduling an installation or replacement, and addressing approval. Some projects/post offices will require you speak with a USPS representative in person if we’re unable to contact the post office via phone or email. The post office will review the project locations and addresses to revise or approve accordingly. The installation cannot be completed without their involvement and approval!
Will the homeowner's mailbox location change if the cluster boxes are replaced?
Sometimes! Depending on the project and USPS requirements, an individual homeowner’s box may be relocated to a different mailbox location. All addressing must be approved by USPS prior to installation; sometimes changes will be made to address sequencing based on USPS mail sorting system, record keeping, or delivery routes. We have no control over address changes coming directly from USPS nor do we alter any addressing without USPS instruction.

4B+ Horizontal & Vertical Mailboxes
Horizontal Mailboxes are centralized wall-mounted mail delivery units designed for use in larger multi-family apartment buildings, dormitories, and office high rises. These time-tested mailboxes are sturdy and classic options for large-scale mail delivery applications due to their slimmer, horizontal shape.
Please note 4B+ Horizontal Mailboxes are no longer USPS approved for new installations and are being phased out as of October of 2006. USPS requires properties to be updated to current standards when any renovation occurs to the property. Any remodel big or small should expect to upgrade to CBU or 4C mailboxes; please confirm USPS approval prior to purchase as these are non-refundable if USPS has denied approval after purchase.
Vertical Mailboxes are another form of centralized wall-mounted mail delivery units in a larger, vertical tenant door shape. Since the maximum number of doors on these units is 7, these are commonly used in smaller commercial buildings, apartments, etc. Made of anodized aluminum, these units are strong and stand well to frequent use.
Please note 4B+ Vertical Mailboxes are no longer USPS approved for new installations and are being phased out as of October of 2006. USPS requires properties to be updated to current standards when any renovation occurs to the property. Any remodel big or small should expect to upgrade to CBU or 4C mailboxes; please confirm USPS approval prior to purchase as these are non-refundable if USPS has denied approval after purchase.
Our experienced team will help you with ensuring the project is compliant with USPS Regulations.
